2. A Crowd-funding Campaign to turn this 19th Century Thames River Fort into a Nightclub
A crowdfunding campaign via Go Fund Me is hoping to raise money to purchase and renovate No.1, the Thames. They plan on turning the 19th century fort, located off the Isle of Grain at the mouth of the Thames estuary, into a nightclub. The enormous building is completely surrounded by water during high tide, leading Minival dreaming of a “Berghain in the middle of the sea”.

3. Letters from Paris
Paris Letters is a painted letter series sent out via snail mail to those who crave getting fun snail mail from the land of fromage, rosé and lippy waiters.
“After 110 years of writing junk mail in advertising, I devised an exit strategy to finance my own sabbatical … When I met my financial goal, I skipped town and traveled with nothing more than my suitcase and a small set of watercolors. Along the way, I painted letters about my travels and mailed them to friends. Enamored with this unique medium, I opened an online shop. Each month I create one painted letter, copy it, personalize it and mail it to hundreds of subscribers who are hungry for fun mail.”

10. A Baseball Umpire turned Accidental Folk Artist
George Sosnak had a passion for the game of baseball but did not have the athletic skill to be a player, so he did the next best thing to be involved in the game – he became an umpire. Although his dreams of becoming a Major League umpire were never fulfilled, Sosnak’s painted baseballs slowly grew to cult-like popularity.
Sosnak would send a ball to player or get it signed in person and then start to decorate the rest of the baseball.
The scope of his work is unknown. The baseballs are scattered throughout the world. The estimates of painted orbs in existence range from 800-3,000. Most auction houses today cite the 800 number as the accepted estimate of painted baseballs but it could be likely a total number of baseballs is more toward the 3,000 range – most of his work is still out there waiting to be rediscovered.
