Man oh man, do I need to get a look at this photographer’s address book. Mattias Haker is up there with the best abandoned photographers I’ve seen. And I like that he’s not shy with the saturation, highlighting all those vibrant colours that were left to fade over time. You can tell he spends a lot of time setting up the perfect shot and even with the most recognisable abandoned locations, through Mattias’ lens, it’s like seeing them for the first time.
Having said that, there are a lot more places I don’t recognise and just I’m itching to know their locations, but Haker purposefully leaves his images unlabelled to protect the buildings from vandalism and theft. Fair enough. I suppose with incredible places such as these, only those who put in the time, effort and research deserve to find them…
