Vintage Paris: Cabaret Dancers

Robert Doisneau photographed “The Voluptuous Wanda” in 1953 at a street fair being held at the place Denfert Rocherreau. What’s most interesting about this picture is that it’s bright daylight just outside in contrast to the dark interior where the audience watches her perform. People outside seem to be waiting patiently in line, unfazed by the fact that this is a little inappropriate for the middle of the day.
