There may or may not have been a small part of me that just wanted to do this post because the Loch Ness monster and I share the same nickname, but mostly it’s because this photo story just oozes mystery and enchantment …
From a young age, Jamie Stocker wanted to be a cryptozoologist; a hunter of animals with a disputed existence, you know, like Big Foot chasers. The only problem was that Jamie was never very good at biology or science. As an adult, still fascinating by the unknown, Jamie chose photography and after weeks of research, began his journey on the shores of Loch Ness.
His photographs explore the culture and people that live with Nessie in their backyard– from the scientists that work tirelessly to prove or disprove the mythical creature’s existence, to the superstitious locals who have developed an odd little tourist industry alongside their monster’s giant pool.
Just about the only photographer who went to Loch Ness not in search of a 6 × 7 photograph of the mystical beast in question, enjoy his eerie encounters from this fascinatingly off-beat corner of the world…
Anyone else feeling seduced by the mystery of the Loch Ness for a winter weekend?!
