Closed Shops

This morning I woke up early thinking I’d have a productive errands day; get to the gym, run across town to pick up those shoes for my brother’s upcoming wedding, pick up my dry cleaning– all the little things you don’t really feel like doing on the weekend. And then of course I realised that the entire town has shut down for Bastille Day– Paris has closed up shop. Nobody works on a French national holiday, are you kidding?!

So all this to say that I’m deciding to close up shop for the day too; I’m shutting the laptop, putting on a striped Breton sweater and eating some brie with my fellow Frenchies. I hope you won’t mind. To try and make up for it, I found a Flickr group dedicated entirely to Closed Shops and “Magasins Fermé”…
