Jauntily hung Friends posters, VHS movies, gel pens, furniture that looks like it’s been taken straight off the set of Saved by the Bell, and nonsensical – but absolutely necessary – squiggly lines on every surface. We love the 80s and 90s more than Cher Horowitz loved her Alaia handbag, so naturally, we lost it when we found out there was a ’80s & 90s-themed Airbnb in Dallas, Texas. No matter what age you were on the eve of Y2K pandemonium, you won’t be able to resist the charm of this veritable time warp. There will be Power Rangers. There will be boy bands and even a Talkboy. There will be a bedroom better than anything you saw on The Babysitters Club…
The Airbnb has two bedrooms, sleeps eight guests (there are four beds) and has one bath. The entire apartment is decked out in ’90s memorabilia, and you just may run into the downstairs vacationers in the 1980s themed apartment, “The McFly“:
The McFly is cute, but, if we dare say so, the 1990s flat is really where the hosts have outdone themselves. Not only will you be greeted by Marge from The Simpsons every morning, but there’s an excellent selection of the decades’ best VHS movies for you to watch, and, in the words of hosts Jeremy and Kelsey, plenty of “sugary cereal.”
The Airbnb is €107 per night (or about €26 per person a night!), and in a great neighbourhood. The cherry on top? The dining room changes colour…
