A lock of Lucrezia Borgia’s hair in a glass case at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Milan, Italy. She was born into one of the most infamous family of all time, who became prominent in ecclesiastical and political affairs in the 15th and 16th centuries, producing two popes, including her father, Pope Alexander VI. Her brother, Cesare Borgia is said to have held an orgy with over 50 prostitutes in the Papal Palace. They were suspected of many crimes, including adultery, incest, bribery, and murder, especially murder by arsenic poisoning. It was rumoured that Lucrezia was in possession of a hollow ring that she used to poison drinks.
