Stay in Miami or Burleigh heads (small town vibe) at Tessa’s or the lovely Bend of the River slightly inland- the Miami to Burleigh walk is stunning.
Enjoy the local beaches at Burleigh, Currumbin (don’t miss the Cougal Cascades) and maybe Coolangatta.
Greenmount beach is lovely and Currumbin beach has rock pools and a famous (but tiny) lookout point (up narrow stairs) called “Elephant rock” which has sweeping views across the horizon, great for sunset. Get a drink there at Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club.
Go inland to check out the Hinterland wineries. You can take a hot air balloon or horse trail ride in the hinterland and pick up some local foods from places in Mt Tambourine.
Also at the Cedar Creek Rock Pools you can swim under a waterfall, letting the freshwater spray onto your head like a shower.
